Playfair
Two rental buildings exist on this site located at 1701 Kilborn Avenue and 1695 Playfair Drive. The plan is to have a third high-rise building and a low-rise building, for a total unit count of approximately 716 potential owner-occupied units, as well as increasing the 435 current parking to 717 parking units. The new high-rise tower to be constructed is proposed to be 245 units with a mix of one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and two-bedroom and den units. The existing two rental towers holding a total of 435 units have received draft condominium status and will be marketed for sale. The proposed works on the site include renovated units, new exteriors, replacement of windows, updated hallways and entrance lobbies, extensive landscaping, new common elements.
The Regional Group is anticipating sales to both the current tenants and the general public in 2011. The image of this complex will be totally changed in the marketplace. “Playfair Towers” will provide homeowners with new contemporary suites that have been redesigned to accommodate today’s marketplace. New amenities will be incorporated in the development and updating the existing facilities. Some of the amenities being considered are a renovated fitness center, an outdoor barbeque and garden area, upgraded pool area and saunas, just to name a few.
