80 Florence
80 Florence is an 8 storey residential apartment building built in 1980.
The City of Ottawa and the Owners of the building entered into an agreement to retrofit the building completely by removing and replacing the exterior masonry, the complete exterior building envelope, all windows and balcony doors, roofing, flashings and caulking direct ventilation for all fans, make up air system, corridors, relocating lockers to a mezzanine level, and the redevelopment of a gymnasium converting it to retail space. The Owners hired The Regional Group of Companies Inc. as Project Managers for this project.
The project started March 26, 2010 and was substantially completed by February 28, 2011. This is the first such project in Ottawa, where a highrise has had a complete reskinning of building envelope, retrofit and renovation of HVAC systems and common space while maintaining all tenants in place.
